Property Owner Permission for Equipment Installation
For rental, leased and association-governed properties — complete before the installation is scheduled.
The resident named below has ordered Hudson Valley Wireless internet service at the address below. Installing the service means mounting a small piece of equipment on the outside of the building and bringing one cable into the resident's home. Because the resident does not own the building, we need written permission from the property owner, property manager or association before our technician does any exterior work. There is no cost to the property owner, and the owner is not responsible for the resident's account.
How it works
You enter your details and your landlord's.
We email the owner a link to approve online.
We schedule your install once they respond.
What the owner is agreeing to
Exterior equipment mount — a compact antenna or fiber enclosure on the roof, gable, exterior wall, eave, or a short mast or pole, using a weather-sealed mount. Non-penetrating mounts are used where practical.
Cable to the home — one cable from the mount to the resident's living space, secured along the exterior and entering through a single sealed penetration (or an existing entry point if one is available).
Grounding — a ground wire bonded to the building's electrical ground, as required by the National Electrical Code.
Fiber drop (fiber-served addresses only) — an aerial or buried fiber line from the nearest Hudson Valley Wireless terminal to the building.
Access for installation and service — access to the roof, exterior, basement, utility or common areas as needed on install day and for future service visits, with the resident present or by arrangement with the owner.
What the owner can expect
Workmanship. Work is done by trained Hudson Valley Wireless technicians in a neat, workmanlike manner. Penetrations are weather-sealed, cable is secured, and the technician leaves the work area as found.
Damage. Hudson Valley Wireless will repair, at its expense, any damage to the property caused by its installation or service work. Ordinary fastener holes from an approved mount are not considered damage.
Equipment ownership. The antenna, fiber enclosure, power supply and any router Hudson Valley Wireless provides remain the property of Hudson Valley Wireless (or of the broadband program funding the installation). They are not fixtures of the building and may not be sold, moved or kept with the property.
When service ends. If the resident moves or cancels, Hudson Valley Wireless will remove its exterior equipment on request. Mounting hardware and the sealed cable entry may be left in place so a future resident can be connected without new penetrations, unless the owner asks for removal.
Future residents. Unless the owner checks the box below, this permission stays in effect for the address as long as any resident at this address subscribes to Hudson Valley Wireless, so a new tenant can be connected without a new form.
Owner's cost and liability. Nothing is charged to the owner. The resident is the account holder and is solely responsible for service charges. Hudson Valley Wireless does not place a lien on or acquire any interest in the property.
