Hudson Valley Wireless responds to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This page explains our role, how to send a notice, how to appeal, and who to send it to.

Our role as an internet access provider

For our subscribers' internet traffic, HVW is a provider of transitory digital network communications — we transmit data, we do not host it.

Sending a notice of claimed infringement

Notices must go to our designated agent, who is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent Directory. The full requirements, including the statutory elements a valid notice must contain, are set out on this page.

Counter-notification and repeat infringers

If material HVW hosts was removed by mistake or misidentification, a counter-notice may be filed. We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe.
